-Some cautious optimism from the province after OPEC agreed to reduce oil production by 10 million barrels a day.
Energy Minister Sonya Savage says the agreement to implement production limits, brings global energy producers in line with measures that Alberta has been carrying out since January of last year. She says there isn’t as much demand for oil right now because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but she says it will return as economies around the world recover. She says life will return to normal, but in the interim, we can help the measures taken by OPEC will stabilize the price of oil and prevent further stress.
