Due to the increased need for blood at the Red Deer Hospital, the Red Deer donor centre has needed to make increases to their supply in order to meet the demand. Canadian Blood Services Red Deer has added an additional hour to their Saturday bookings and opened up additional booking slots throughout the week. There are now 70 appointments Tuesday through Friday and 86 slots on Saturdays. 366 appointments per week with a goal of 35 new donors per week or 180 for the month.
Hours of operation are
Tuesday: 3:00 – 7:00 pm
Wednesday: 3:00 – 7:00 pm
Thursday: 3:00 – 7:00 pm
Friday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
We cannot allow walk-in appointments at this time due to the gathering bans and physical distancing measures. This week there are 65 open appointment spots to be filled and 125 for next week.
